Life Less Common is a proud partner of Carbon Neutral’s Plant-a-Tree Program. For every pair of sunnies sold, we will purchase one tree for planting through the Plant-a-Tree program.

Carbon Neutral has over 20 years of experience creating innovative large-scale reforestation projects that restore landscapes, preserve biodiversity and sequester large amounts of atmospheric carbon.

The Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor is Western Australia’s most ambitious Plant-a-Tree regeneration project, creating a 200km green corridor from inland to the coast.

IMPACT

Plant-a-Tree is restoring the natural landscape and reconnecting habitats by linking small patches of remaining vegetation to create a 200km green corridor from inland to the coast.

This can have a big impact on climate change as it grows critical habitat for native wildlife on historically cleared land and will help to restore a globally recognised biodiversity hotspot. This positive impact directly contributes to:

GUARANTEE

For every pair of Life Less Common sunnies sold, we purchase one tree for planting through the Plant-a-Tree program.

Plant-a-Tree program will plant an Australian native tree or shrub species in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor. They plant on unproductive, degraded farmland with the aim of returning the land to its original condition and restoring the precious ecosystems within it.

The trees are protected for 100 years by a carbon covenant and carbon right registered with the state government on the land title. This ensures the trees cannot be removed or compromised, even if the land is sold.

CARBON NEUTRAL

REPORTING

Life Less Common will report its total sales units every 12 months (on 30th June) to Plant-a-Tree and then purchase the corresponding number of trees. For example, 500 sunglasses sold over a 12-month period, will equate to 500 trees being purchased and planted through the Plant-a-Tree program.

As a Plant-a-Tree partner, we are required to meet the criteria set by Carbon Neutral to continue to be part of the program and have use of partner materials. Accountability and transparency are our responsibility.
